Production halls covering more than 3,000 m2 are available to manufacture BALKOTEC® at our 
 Elsterwerda site.

Thanks to a number of continuous cooperation projects with renowned Brandenburg research 
 and development institutions, we are constantly involved in research and further development 
 in the fields of industrial safety, health, fire and environmental protection as well as production 
 and process technologies.

At the beginning of 2013, for example, we invested in the latest CAD/CAM-controlled plants 
 and machines, some using high-precision laser technology, that allow us to meet almost all of 
 our customers’ requirements and respond to the market demands even more effectively and flexibly.
 We also use the latest generation technologies so that nothing is left to chance when ensuring the 
 quality of all our products.

Properties:

BALKOTEC® C/ XXL consists of a coated, cement-bonded particle board as a balcony 
 floorboard for outside use according to EN 13986:2004 + A1:2015 and EN 634-2:2007.

BALKOTEC® C is available up to a maximum size of 4,000 mm (length) x 2,000 mm (width).

Thanks to a special production process, BALKOTEC® XXL can be manufactured up to a size 
 of 10 m2 in one piece without any joints.

The surface coating is UV-resistant and weatherproof as well as resistant to most chemicals 
 and environmental effects.

BALKOTEC® C/ XXL

KNOW-HOW:

We use advanced technology such as CNC board dividing saws and CNC machining centres 
 to produce our individual balcony boards. These modern machines guarantee low dimensional 
 tolerances, a high degree of precision and a fast production process for our products.

Furthermore, our production team uses special plants that have been custom-built for our 
 manufacturing process to machine the boards mechanically.

The special coating is applied in several layers.

The coating system was originally developed for industrial floor-coating applications and 
 designed to resist high stresses. The individual components, however, have been adapted 
 to meet the special requirements of balconies and terraces.

ACCESSORIES

Drainage

We offer our BALKOTEC® – balcony boards for the relevant project with a state-of-the-art drainage option.

Only drainage systems whose practical application has been tried and tested can guarantee that rain water will be drained quickly without any waterlogging and no damage and costs 
will result in the long run.

We can only produce the boards if the board geometry, drainage option and substructure meet the specifications in our technical data sheets. Please do not hesitate to contact us should you have any queries. We will be pleased to advise you as well as find and present

Gluing system

The BALKOTEC® gluing system can be used to mount BALKOTEC® steps, platform and balcony boards on hot-dip galvanized steel or powder-coated aluminium indoor and outdoor substructures. The BALKOTEC® gluing system includes the permanently elastic glue SB-PUR 40, one-sided, self-adhesive EPDM tape and products that are needed for substrate preparation.

Repair set

An intact surface coating is crucial for the balcony floorboards’ durability. Quick action is needed whenever the coating surface is damaged.

Small chips or flakes that crack off or core material that is exposed by drilling or cutting must be replaced or sealed to prevent moisture from entering the board. We offer large and small repair sets with which you can quickly remedy small defects and seal drilling holes and cut edges on the balcony board yourself using our easy-to-understand repair instructions.

MAINTENANCE

The special surface coating of the BALKOTEC® – floorboard is UV-resistant and weatherproof. The balcony floorboards should be cleaned at least once a month if possible to ensure that they permanently retain their good looks.

The balcony floorboards should be cleaned with commercial, environmentally friendly, non-abrasive floor cleaning agents. Any coarse soiling or critical substances such as dirt from trees or other plants, leaves, tea, coffee and red wine should be removed as soon as possible. If these are left to take effect over a longer period of time, this can lead to surface stains that are difficult to remove. Cigarettes or pieces of BBQ charcoal that fall onto the
board will cause burns and must be avoided.

Any sheet metal flashing that is connected directly to the balcony floorboard or any drainpipes of copper gutters have to be sealed with a suitable protective varnish. Rain and moisture wash away the patina from untreated copper material, leading to staining of the balcony floorboard surface. Such stains cannot be removed.
Rust stains caused by rusty balcony furniture or drilling chips that have not been removed after installation work should be removed promptly with a commercial cleaning fleece.

Floor covering such as artificial grass flooring, PVC floor carpets or tiles may not be laid on the water vapour-permeable BALKOTEC® – coating. These kinds of subsequently laid floorings prevent rain and any other water from draining away and cause damage to the boards in the long run. Flower pots with sharp edges or metal chairs with sharp-edged feet should not be used on the balcony floorboard. Flower pots and plant containers should be placed on roller boards, for example.
